    I'm John.

Default Greetings for the Black country.

Iv been a "lurker" on the forum for a while, taking advantage of all the collective info and experience on the forum ^^.
But decided it worth making an account.

Not long been into Hifi, moved out of the parents house about 9 months ago and decided the most important thing was a massive TV and decent sound system and thus my audio fidelity journey began.

Ended up Buying a Yamaha AS500 amp powering a set of Q Acoustic 2050i's, Wharfdale 150W sub and some cheap DACs. Then i caught the vinyl bug and invested in a Rega Planar 3, ended up upgrading the motor to the 24v one and a new dual pulley with decent belts and sounds miles better! Though still need to get a TT PSU so i can play 45s again ><.

Now im looking for a second sound system for my 2nd bedroom which will soon be a classic gaming and general pissup room , probably go vintage and get a set of Ditton 44s or similar.

So greetings and a thank you to the community for already providing me with a good deal of knowledge!

A big mix to be fair. Never really met anyone else who likes the range i music i do myself. Everything from Rock, Metal, Jazz, Blues, DnB, Dunstep, Hardcore/Hardstyle, Scar, Some modern pop (theres alot of **** but there still remains the odd gem), minimalism ect XD
Love my classical music aswell. I play piano myself and adore anything by Chopin, Rachmaninov, Debussy, Granados and Greig.

Hi John and welcome to AoS. You will find many of us here have quite eclectic tastes in music, for example you are as likely to hear Metallica, Faith No More or Sigur Ros blasting from my speakers as you are Tchaikovsky's Romeo & Juliet suite

Hi John and good to have you aboard.
I`m originally from you neck of the woods, Birmingham, but you`ve entitled your post `.......from the Black Country`.

    Now which is it?
I married a black country lass and am always reminded that `Brum` is not part of the Black Country

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

Haha, im not too fussed if people say im from Birmingham but being west of the m5 its definitely black country. Pretty thankful that i dont bare the accent though XD. It sometimes makes a slight appearance after a few pints but generally doesnt show up.

On a musical note, iv always looked at music genres in that there are thousands if not millions of people who enjoy a type of music. Surely if that many people appreciate it you just need to delve into it until you find out why those people like it and you will enjoy it the same.
