Hi Nigel...i love the 21l s in the main system they have a very luxurious tone and if fed right are surprisingly well controlled. My 21s are the mk1 versions which i think to be better than the newer version..often the case.Originally Posted by Naughty Nigel

I believe the L series was originally designed and built for Quad by Spendor in the UK, presumably using parts sourced from elsewhere. Current production is in China. I don't know if this explains anything, but I am happy with my original L's!

surprising what you can pick up cheaply on ebay on ocasion...nice guy that sold them too.....had the glove and bungs etc with them

I think you are spot on Nigel.
I still get or got a little bass boom from the rear ports partly because of their design and part because of position so I layed my hands on my grandkids baby sponge (a new one that never got used) cut it in two and inserted them where the sun never shone
