    Have you tried a different input on your preamp?
    Does the noise go away?

    Have you tried switching your speakers around at the back of the amp?
    Did the noise change sides? If not then you might have an amplifier issue.
    If the fault does move then you might have a speaker problem, possibly a blown or rubbing tweeter.

    Haven't tried any f these ideas but I have noticed tha it's gone away now... Hmm wonder what it was ...

    Just spotted that you're biamping - scrub the bit about swapping over the speaker connections, or at least leave that until later in a fault chasing procedure.
    Try swapping the interconnect cables around first.
    It's far easier to swap left with right that way.

    I'm pleased to hear that your "tingling" has disappeared for now
    I hope it stays that way.
