I'm charging once a week and that keeps a BM going all week long

I thought you bought an Ankaka, the same as me? They don't have the switch-off problem.

My findings were that even the Paul Hynes PR3i linear power supply running from the P10 did not sound as good as the Ankaka battery.

You can get away with using a far cheaper li-po 12V rechargeable battery as first discussed in a BM1 thread. But the Ankaka can only be sourced directly from the supplier. They were actually going to discontinue it. But I managed to convince them to keep selling it. No doubt they have sold quite a few since then.
