Hello From North Northumberland
Hi All,
I found this forum while searching for a DAC. You made up my mind as you can see by my signature
I started out in the search for better sound when I bought my first 'proper' Hi-Fi in 1976 this consisted of
Pioneer SA5300 Amp
Pioneer PD12D Turntable with a Sure MC72ED Type 2 Cartridge
Solavox TK30 Speakers ( I think they were Comets own make)
My main interest changed from music to Home cinema a few years ago and I have myself a modest home cinema system with a smallish 77" screen.
I realized at the start of this year that I was missing out on music and decided that the headphone route was better for me as I don't really have enough space to have a separate system just for music.
So came my first purchase in Feb this year a set of Sennheiser HD 650's
These were just plugged into an old pioneer A400 amp and the disc spinning was carried out by a really old Technics CD Player.
I am now using my Standac, Squeeze box, Optical out from a Denon 2910 DVD Player and these combinations are sounding good.
I will get around to changing the op-amps in my DAC but for now I am happy just listening (only had the DAC about a week)
