"Electric Abomination" - that's what Mrs. P's latest toy is called. The petrol powered one was becoming uneconomical to run.

And Marco, you should know this - why do those shops always have bead curtains in the doorway?

I would have one as my daily drive, keeping the 7 in the garage for fun time.

I don't want a car you have to plug in every few mile, sod that. Money no object it would be the Mercedes McLaren SLR 722, it's got it all, amazing looks, earth shattering soundtrack and enough power to move a planet. If it's money no object who cares about 7mpg.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder with that one...
I don't like that at all. It looks like someone has grabbed the nose of an SLK and stretched it out.

I would much rather have something like the Vanquish Zagato,

No doubt I'd love the performance, but don't really dig the looks, especially those blingy 'Dubai oil baron' wheels!

Just too wanky. Needs to look more brutal

It is faster than many performance petrol cars, and is the future.
I am just waiting for them to be available with super capacitors and have a better range before going 100% electric.

The next is likely to be a hybrid, and probably quite boring. It is getting to the point where you just can’t use a fast car properly on the roads, and with the speed limit being dropped to 50mph on the twisty bits, the fun is rapidly disappearing.

A few people on here saying they would never buy an electric car. Easy to say when you have a choice. But whether you like it or not, it's coming.

The government will never say you have to buy electric, they'll just say 'you want to stick with your petrol/diesel cars, fine, but your road tax will be 2 grand a year, fuel prices will rapidly reach and pass the £2 per litre mark, and just wait till MOT time. Your motor's emissions need to be no more than 20% of the current standards, or you won't get your ticket.

Ownership and use of petrol cars will become a privilege of the wealthy, like holiday homes and yachts. So it's unlikely the policy makers themselves will be affected.

And just wait and see the character assassination they'll do on petrol-heads, they'll be a social pariahs, like smokers and people who like Celine Dion.
