    Don’t you just need an adapter cable to get the iPod working?

    I have the Audi adapter cable but comes up as unsupported

    That's Audi for you, and the salespeople can be quite rude - the laughed me out of the showroom when I asked where my eight track would go.

    They got upset when I mentioned VAG in their showroom. Seems they don't like being regarded as posh Volkswagens.

    I have not had any issues with the staff, just frustrated that my IPod won’t work, so need to go down a different route for music in the car, just not sure which one to go with.

    What media format are they geared for? There may be a converter that can work.

    I think the issue is because my IPod is 5th Gen classic, memory stick works ok, there is a SD slot as well. I could just use my iPhone through Bluetooth or Apple Airplay, I would prefer to have a separate source for music.
