They are introducing a proper sports car that is about 30% quicker. Should be devastating!

A stupidly fast car that you won't hear coming, it'll all end in tears, you mark my words The Fun Police (aka the police ) will be on it like a tramp on a sandwich.

There was a Metro coming down the road, and just before it reached us, my mate pulled out in front of it, and accelerated to 15mph and held that speed for a couple of hundred yards, shouting out of the window "see how you like it you bastard!"

Metro drivers wearing Trilbys were the worst of all.

Metros are all but extinct, and a good thing too. Although we have Daewoo Matiz these days.

I have noticed an increase in the number of drivers (mostly women) who fail to notice when the lights have turned to green. Judging by the way their head is facing, I would say they are using the red light as an opportunity to catch up on their Facebook.
I've still got my Dad's Metro Vanden Plas Automatic in my drive, Dad passed away in 1991. The car is not too bad a condition.

If I had a Metro I would consider joining the owners' club. He goes to Knutsford Services every Sunday. He always takes the A roads, which must make it a nightmare for caravanners. Sometimes he goes on the bus.

Is that the electric thing? If so, it wouldn't interest me in the slightest, no matter how fast it goes, because as well as being pinned back in my seat, I like to hear a nice ROAR when I accelerate!

I'm sure there must be a way to simulate engine/exhaust sounds in these cars if only for safety reasons. Remember the old "Loud pipes save lives" slogan?
