In fifty years time, we will probably have had WW3 and the hugely reduced population who remain will have reverted to using horses.

I said years ago Ford Capris would be collectible one day and got laughed at.

I was offered a Nissan Skyline in decent nick for £2K. Couldn't buy it as I couldn't find anywhere to store it. Would have easily tripled my money on that now.

I could see some of the earlier Camrys becoming collectable once the vast majority of them are scrap. Buy one and tuck it away now, better than money in the bank.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

I wouldn't want one now. They were nothing special to drive.

I'd far sooner have an Opel Manta GTE.

You may be right about that! But in 50 years I doubt any of us will have to worry about it? I know I won’t!

I’ve known or more than one person who bought a brand new Chevy Corvette and stashed it away, for preservation, and to make a profit. A neighbor of a friend who lives in the mountains of Virginia built his game room around one! It’s inside the house, will not fit through the door. With 3 actual miles on it. I forget what year, one of the mid 60’s models.

Ah yes. The Mk.I with the Essex 3.0 V6 engine that was prone to stripping its fibre timing gears and conking out from fuel starvation when the carb got hot and had wheel arches that started rusting away within a year from new.

At least it was better than the dreadful foregoing Zodiac Mk. IV.
