I did a bit of work for VAD a while ago and got one of their early development models. I'm not sure how much the final release has changed but if the proper release is as good as the development models it will be very good indeed!

I guess it have to be better if they put everything on hold to bring their work on this project to the very end. I asked Greg @ VAD about your DAC, and if the current TEN is a final version and 10th revision since beginning, then your one is 6th. However it has already valve on the digital inputs board ,which is a massive improvement as Greg says over an excellent TAD -1s which I used to have on demo and which hadn't had that. Still those two owners who bought them remain happy and not looking for any swap .... even if I let them know that retro fit is possible and offered all way back for those who would like to bring their machines up to date.

And , hell -YES - it is completely different level when compared to old TAD dacs. Specially when it plays native DSD files !

VAD DAC 10 DSD seems to settle up after being constantly used over 2 months now
and it seems to do better and better. Especially when fed with native DSD files. Really this one and LampizatOr are both a league of their own- forget so called DSD dacs onthe market which are offering you just a DSD logo at the front and back converted via PCM playback. Equipped with a pair of Brimar NOS rectifiers and an excellent pair of Shuguang CV 181, which are a direct replacement for any 6SN7 Triode, this one is offering insanely excellent presentation
