It was said "tongue in cheek". But if the conductors of cables are thought to ‘burn in’ with time, why does the same not apply for (dielectric) insulators? They are also subject to the same electromagnetic fields.

On a similar note, the acoustic revive rgc-24 is an excellent tweak, it used to live under my power amp, but since going unbalanced/rca connections I moved it to my DAC and placed the puck under the mains transformer, this has had a bigger impact on the sound here, again a lowering of background noise.

One issue I've got since going unbalanced is a tiny ground him, its very quiet but after the steps I've taken for a quieter background its a bit of a shame. Anyone got suggestions to remove this please?
yeah get some DSD, you will be so transfixed with the musical quality you won't care about hum, trust me on that one chief!

Dave, I've bought a load of stuff from Blue Coast records, mainly Keith Greeninger.

Its unadultered DSD, the quality is amazing!

If you've got a rig to appreciate it, DSD is the best format, in my humble and uneducated opinion

Just to be certain try a different interconnect. Maybe also check with the dac out of the rack, just to make sure its not the output TX's picking up something. Does having the dac powered off make any difference?

When the DAC clicks 'off' and the power light goes red, the hum stops. This didn't happen with the ultimate xlr interconnects in the system.
