Default Bastin power supply for AC powered Gyrodecs.

This is a product commissioned by the excellent Deco Audio. They claim a significant improvement over the QC supply for the original Papst motor with the addition of fine speed adjustment. Sounds like an interesting upgrade at £560 and could well be preferable to the current DC motor versions.

Yes, they are excellent power supplies which I often demo here. The problem is, you will need to wait around six months to get one, as Martin is drowning in orders..

I'm after one for the Thorens TD124 but can't seem to be able to get in touch with him. He does make them though.

I was very pleased with the improvement from the QC so im surprised this is so much better.

£560 is a lot. At £350 I'd have been tempted but it's too much imo.

One would have to get a demo or loan from Deco for comparison to come to any conclusions. It comes in a rudimentary case but so do those Technics supplies that cost even more. You also get a strobe and disc for the money. Also would want to compare against the latest DC Orbe to see if the entire upgrade route makes more sense.
