    Default My mate's........

    .......favourite instrument is the metronome

We have the same discussion everytime he listens to music at my place. "Why do you choose to listen to musicians who can't keep strict time?" As always, I tell him that I prefer those musicians who are actually looking for the music in the notes rather than just mechanically playing what is written down. He just can't see how you can have the music if the composer is being 'ignored'.

He likes Narcisso Yepes whereas I find him technically great but plain boring to listen to. When I play him the same piece played by Yepes and Mozqueda, he says that Mozqueda is being over emotional and is showing off!!

There was me thinking that music is more of an emotional thing than a technical exercise.

    Praps I'm wrong

Call him a mate, he sounds like a Dick. Sorry what's his name again?

Only joshing, I'm with you Gordon, always look for and enjoy the emotion.

Did he like the Firebottle by the way?

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

    Nah - its Robin!!

Ex judge with about as much common sense as one might expect. However, when I say 'mate' I really mean ex-client although we do meet up when he is over here from Wales. He is OK actually and whilst not a close friend, I quite enjoy his company (occasionally)

I always flash the amp with the cover off to show them how big mine are
