Very nice Dave. Ayre is beautiful quality. Stunning build!
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Yes, it's good gear. I stocked Ayre, for a few years, from around 1998 and have many happy customers. One of the reasons I like it, is that they don't keep changing the models and any improvements are retrofittable at reasonable cost.

I demo'd the Venere 2.5 recently at my local dealer. Absolutely fab, best I've heard for a long while.just a pity they are too big for my room, else I would have bought them. Uncanny ability to project the perfect horizontal 3d soundstage. None of the speakers I listened to at the time managed to achieve this
    Main System : Apple MacMini - Via USB - Mytek Stereo192 DAC/pre - Reference Fidelity ic's - Quad QSP Power - Talk3 speaker cable - PMC 23 Loudspeakers
    Secondary System : Apple Imac - Jriver MC - RME ADI-2 DAC - Klotz MC5000 ic's - Edifier R1280T active loudspeakers.
