They have each been a joy to have around. My current pooch 'Tippy the Lurcher' was estimated to be about eight years old when he arrived and has been with me five years. He's incredibly well behaved and sweet. He may be getting older now, but is very healthy.
With cats, we prefer getting them as kittens (as kittens are *so* cute) and as young as possible. That way we can, as far as possible, instil our habits/way of life into them, so that they become 'ours', as opposed to us looking after what has essentially already become someone else's pet, thus formed its own habits - if you get me?
It's rather like adopting kids. If we were ever to do that, we'd always go for a baby (as young as possible), rather than a child or teenager, for the same reasons

Poor little things, foxes are devious buggers.
Ours have their own room in the house, it's furnished with chairs and a table and they have the run of it, we just go in to feed them, tidy up and for a cwtch, they couldn't be more pampered.
