Bugger, bugger, bugger - I've forgotten to post that thing for you Dave - that must be why you're so musically confused! I promise to sort it on Monday (I can't really remember, did I tell you my memory was shite?)

Just what are you Guys talking about?

Southern born and raised. Went 'up North' to university, then 'darn sarf' to do a PhD and remained in the south to work. Now retired and resigned to staying put.

As regards musical tastes, well I'm learning all the time (largely thanks to the thread " Spinning Today ...") and am always open to new music. If I do buy music that might be perceived as 'soft' by some, that is more likely due to my appreciating certain genres or artists now more than I used to. That's my excuse for buying the likes of Nina Simone, Dionne Wawick, Shirley Bassey and Sarah Vaughan.

The only record anyone actually needs is Raw Power by Iggy and the Stooges. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Joe, Northern born, living down South for nigh-on 40 years.
