Every Breath You Take was on the top 10 songs (in terms of revenue) documentary on BBC 4 last week. Can't remember the place, but it has earned Sting a fortune. Apparently this was part of the reason the Police split up - Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, despite reaching an arrangement with Sting, couldn't stomach Sting getting the lion's share of royalties.

I sort-of have to agree, but the (Summers written) lyrics of this one get me more personally..

Though it's me that's on fire not this cigarette
I was stabbed in the back by that young suffragette
And what do I care if she leaves me alone
If I need somebody I'll pick up the phone
I'll put on my good face, clean up the flat
I'm starting all over good bye to all that
Put on some music and pour out a drink
I'll go back to bed and I'll try not to think

Someone to talk to, Someone to talk to...

She was a person I just couldn't see
And I tried to make her what she couldn't be
We tried and we tried, but of course in the end
I drove her crazy and right 'round the bend
Now it's too much to just sit here and cry
I can't be seen with a tear in my eye
Why am I standing right next to the phone?
When I kept on saying I must be alone

Someone to talk to, Someone to talk to...

I love you, why didn't I say that before
I guess that it's safe now she's walked through the door
It's hard when you know that you've got to go on
Feeling so weak and pretending you're strong
I didn't see her I only felt me
And one day I'll learn just which part of me bleeds
Now that she's gone I know she was great
But I fucked it up and now it's too late

Someone to talk to, Someone to talk to
Someone to talk to, Someone to talk to
Someone to talk to, Someone to talk to
Someone to talk to, Someone to talk to
Someone to talk to, Someone to talk to
Tear down these walls; Cut the ties that held me
Crying out at the top of my voice; Tell me now if you can hear me

I think in all honesty my favourite is probably I Can't Stand Losing You, especially the Old Grey Whistle Test live version

I've always liked this lesser known song too:

King Of Pain is good too, but I love Alanis' version

Not sure on the best track but yesterday I was watching an ISF calibrator calibrate a high end projector and the test disc afterwards was this:

Probably the best picture and sound quality Blu ray of a concert ever, just how all concert blu rays should be.

On a huge projector screen with perfect sound in the dark it is like being there

Why? They're WELL after your cut-off point - Actually, Andy Summers worked as a pro guitarist in Dorset with Robert Fripp long before King Crimson I seem to remember, so he would be sort-of your period I think....

So Lonely from the first album. It all went a bit wayward IMB after this album. Millions would disagree with me though
