I have two greyhounds which are trained from an early age to chase small furry things and a cat fits that description perfectly, so we are not troubled at all by cat shit in our garden

It's a real hoot seeing a cat almost running in mid air like in the cartoons trying to get away smartish when the patio door opens

Touch wood they have all managed to scarper pronto but I wouldn't like to explain to the cat owner that the heap of empty fur in my garden is the cat they once loved

Mind you, these two buggers produce plenty of "organic matter" without any help at all from the local cats

Catch it drive 20 miles & put in someone else garden The simple things are always the best, cat lives happy ever after, no more pussy shite in the process...
I'd be a tad more proactive with the owner, and a baseball bat would probably be involved should the owner turn out to be an asshole. People who can't be responsible with their pets don't deserve them IMO

Why is it a problem? There are lots of other animals busily crapping on your land every day, birds, hedgehogs, squirrels etc. What's the particular problem with cats? They generally bury it so it will degrade into the soil. They are all welcome to a dump at my place!

A cat is not a pet it is a wild animal and unlike a dog the 'owner' is not responsible for what it gets up to. They don't like orange peel, try spreading some of that around in your beds.

Sorry, I still don't understand. The soil in your garden is full of decaying matter-it's good for it. Providing the cat is not causing damage-digging up a lawn for example, I just cannot see what the problem is.
Our cat goes out every day and would be totally miserable if she was kept in.We have farmland at the rear so she probably doesn't bother much with gardens but assuming she did frequent them how should I be a 'responsible owner'?

I tend to agree with Jerry. Cat shit is good for soil.

As for that woman putting the cat in a bin. What a total tosser.
