    How did the VC do that? Was there a sign saying "Claymore here" ??

    SOP or standard operating procedure. The Americans would make camp the same way every time, the VC only had to learn this to exploit it.

    edit -I should point out that you don't bury it, it won't work that way.

    My brother had a problem with a cat peeing everywhere round his house years ago. He rented a cat trap from the local council, caught it, asked the neighbours if they owned it (they didn't), took it to the local vet and he gave it a sleepy-bo-bos shot (at council expense). All legal!
