    Default Tracks That Reference Hi-Fi

Been a while since we've had one of my random/pointless playlist threads...

I was listening to this track the other day - Hooverphonic - 50 Watt - which references an Amplifier in the lyrics:

    "Emotional amplifier
    50 watts of pure desire
    Electrified intense luck
Exploded fuse sets the heart on fire
As if we cut the wrong black wire
    Intensified adrenaline bluff"

    (Sorry - a long introduction - kicks in at around 1m 20s)

Got me thinking if there are any other tracks that reference hi-fi - the only one I've thought of so far is Billy Joel - It's Still Rock and Roll To Me ("Don't waste your money on a new set of speakers, You get more mileage from a cheap pair of sneakers.")

So - over to you - are there any more hi-fi references in music???

Of course there's Cliff's wonderful 'Wired for sound'

Stretching it a bit - Billy Bremner's 'Loud music in cars'

    Speakers on the ceiling
    Speakers in the door
    Speakers in the dashboard
    Speakers on the floor
Loud music in cars, loud music in cars
Every day, every place I go, loud music in cars
Everywhere the four winds blow, loud music in cars

Hey, hey, welcome back, mad Alex the thread starter!!

ZZ Top - 'HiFi Mama' (on Deguello)
I want your hi fi mama, won't you let me play it tonight?
I want your hi fi mama, won't you let me play it tonight?
I put the needle in the groove, baby while you douse the lights

I play it on your dresser, play it upside your wall
I play it in your kitchen, even play it in your hall
I play it anywhere you want it, any old time at all

Hi fi, lo fi, no fi's just fine with me, hi fi, lo fi, no fi's just fine with me
And if you want to give me stereo, first give me vitamin E
I got your name and your number

Good night, my darling, where ever you are
    Steely Dan - 'FM'
The girls don't seem to care tonight
As long as the mood is right.
    No static at all,
    No static at all,
    No static at all.
    FM, no static at all
    Still on FM:
Rush - 'Spirit of the Radio' on Permanent Waves
    Invisible airwaves crackle with life
Bright antenna bristle with the energy
    Emotional feedback on timeless wavelength
Bearing a gift beyond price, almost free

All this machinery making modern music
    Can still be open-hearted.
Not so coldly charted, it's really just a question
Of your honesty, yeah, your honesty.

Colorblind James Experience - 'Hi-Fi Alphabet (from 'Why Should I Stand Up?')
He said, "I finally wrote my book
    It's called "The HiFi Alphabet""
I asked him what it was about
He hasn't figured that out yet

Beck - 'Where It's At' from 'Odelay'
    Where it's at!
I got two turntables and a microphone
    Where it's at!

    Feeder - 'Buck Rogers'
He's got a brand new car
    Looks like a Jaguar
    It's got leather seats
It's got a CD player (player, player, player...)
Suede - 'HiFi' (on 'Head Music')
Hi-fi in the white city, yeah yeah
Hi-fi in the white city, yeah yeah
Hi-fi in the white city, yeah yeah
Hi-fi in the white city, yeah yeah
    Crackin' stuff, eh?!
