Hi Malcolm
I saw that Alium audio were advertising a new speaker that they are going to demo at the London hi-fi show (this weekend), these are Consonance M12mk2. They are a single main driver and a horn loaded tweeter (maybe mid unit as well...not sure. I can't tell from the photo) Have a chat with Ian Large...I know him quite well and hes a really nice, well informed enthusiast (not just a seller).

David Shaw's Icon Audio speakers might be worth looking at...I suspect he will be at the show as well.
Going to the show, if you can, might help as some of the smaller more obscure guys tend to exhibit at this show. Have a listen to the new Aurosal floor standers (I din't like the stand mount ones ) these sort out some if not all of the issues with the smaller A1's. These are very easy to drive.

Ps the Consonace's might be too dear....opps. However if you like them, ex demo units might be available just ask Ian. Link to ex demo speakers
