DAC help and recommendations please.

Hello Folks.

Well I've been bothering Marco and the guys in the Analogue Room over the last few weeks with my renewed interest in the round black stuff, but that's also made me stop and reconsider my digital source too.

All (well nearly all) my digital collection are Apple Lossless rips of my CDs as I can't be doing with lossy compression.

At the moment, it all streams from my Intel iMac via CAT6 ethernet cable to my Apple TV, which does the DAC duties, with RCAs to my MF M3 amp.

Basically I'm wondering if I could get worthwhile improvements by using the digital output on the ATV into an external DAC instead.

Suggestion and advice gratefully accepted.

Oh and I could decide if this should be an Apple thread or a DAC one, but decided more the latter.

definitely add a dac to your system, twelvebears,

a stanley 7510 should do the trick. excellent value.
