Anyone know the function of these and what they do and if worth rolling please? Anyway I just bought 2 NOS Mullards because I was bored and they were only £15 the pair !

I'm Nobody.
They are Voltage Reg Tube
They do have an effect especially in the Croft gear. I have a set, one Mullard and one Amprex. The Mullard is probably the more rounded sounding one but the Amperex has more edge.

I bought a mil spec one on Marco's advice and thought it slightly better, although the original was over twenty years old with unknown usage before I bought the preamp..

Thanks TH, what is the amp in your picture please ? Looks interesting ;-)
It's one of a pair of mono blocks I designed and built.
14 gauge brass cases with beech sides.
An E80CF into a pair of 6P14P-K in pushpull with a EZ81 rectifier. Ac heaters, Kiwarme resistors, Mundorf polypropylene tube capacitors in the power supply and Mundorf supreme coupling capacitors. Vvt transfomers and choke.
Traditional build with no silicon devices.
Full star earth arrangement which I believe sounds best.
Ultra quite in operation and sound fantastic through my 95db speakers.
They are the fourth pair of these I have built.
I keep selling them but always regret it and have to build myself another set
