The Tungsol sounds quite good - the Yaqin was ordered today but will probably take a week plus to arrive. Looking forward to getting it and experimenting a bit.

I'm Karl.
Hope you like it's sound and hopefully it's rather hum free...
To all people using New Sensor current production préamp tubes,
you never experience short lives on those tubes?
I had to stop using them as they worn out in less than 6 months...
(guitar amps, used about 15 hours a week or more)
That's the main reason for me to switch to JJ Ecc83s.
Another problem specifically with the Sovtec LPS was that with the heaters on AC, hum would slip into the signal...

Thorens TD 126 MkIII / SME Series III / Ortofon SME 30H // AT-OC9ML/II / Lundahl LL1681
Thorens TD 160 / TP16 / Stanton 681SE
I can't really belive that I have run the lps hard for 3 plus years with no problem.

I use the Sovtek LPSs in a power amp and they seem fine. My MS-12B has Mullard M8137s in it, cos I had them! Better than the Chinese valves that came with it, anyway. I would like to try some Telefunkens, but can't afford them, especially as there seem to be lots of fakes.
At the end of the day, the MS-22B is a fairly cheap (to buy) nice little amp, ideal for playing with and learning as you go, so don't spend silly money on it, unless you can re-use the parts on a better design.
Let us know how you get on with it, and if you like the sound, that's all that matters. And if you don't you can probably sell it on.
