    I'm Steve.

Default Crimes against music: Recordings ruined by lousy production quality.

Come on, we've all come across them, albums where the enjoyment of the musical/artistic content is either ruined, or seriously undermined because the production engineer seems to have had one too many in the pub at lunchtime.

Post your contenders here; artist, album and why it's so bad. Also feel free to praise any that you feel are exceptionally good.

    My opening contribution:

BAD: Manic Street Preachers - This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours.
WHY?: Thin, screechy and obviously mixed for sounding 'ok' out of devices with no treble or bass, i.e. radios, car stereos etc.

GOOD: Notting Hillbillies - Missing.... Presumed Having a Good Time
WHY: Great dynamics, soundstage and acoustic detail.
Steve aka 'Twelvebears' (it's a long story)
System: Technics 1210 Mk5, Jelco 750 arm, AT33EV via MF X-LP2 Phono Stage, Oyaide mat and record clamp. SB Touch via Marantz PM-11S1 amp and Wilson Benesch A.C.T. speakers. Mark Grant cables and PS Audio Power Plant Premier mains regenerator.

X&Y (Coldplay). One of the most sibilant albums I have heard. Only played it twice as a result.
