    Default Hello from Houston

Hello all. Just started lurking here after my purchase of a Technics 1200 MK5 about a month ago. I wanted to get back into vinyl after many years away.

    My system:

Squeezebox Touch>TADAC Dac>Truth Pre-Amp>First Watt F3>Hornshoppe Horns and Heil AMT.

I am starting to mod my 1200. I just received a Timestep PSU (awaiting instructions) and from KAB I'm getting a M5G arm rewired w/cardas, isonoe footers, fluid damper among a few other things). My cart is AT440MLa.

    My music preferences:

Eclectic and diverse...as long as it's not top 40 crapola. My first album was Iron Butterfly (8 years old when I purchased it the year it came out). I have everything from Krautrock to reggae to jazz to Willie, Waylon and Jerry Jeff Walker (none of the Nashville formulatic stuff...really not a mainstream country fan...or for that matter I can't stand anything mainstream...the more different and obscure the better).

Looking forward to interacting with the forum members and tweaking my vinyl rig.

    Cheers,

    Brooks

Hi Brooks and welcome to The Art of Sound!

Sounds like you have good electic tastes. You were definitely a precocious 8 year old

Hope you enjoy it here, there's certainly a lot of people with experience of the SL1200 so you're in the right place

Default Thanks for the welcome mat

Lots of vinyl heads across the pond it seems. I'll be in your neck of the woods in April...getting married in Scotland (my fiance is from Ardrossan but she got to Texas as fast as she could).

I'll post in my progress on my mods in Techiepedia. I'm sure I'll have a few questions on the installation of my Timestep that I just got.

I haven't been to Scotland in the spring, but few would disagree with me if I said that you couldn't have picked a more romantic spot on earth to tie the knot. Great photo backdrops and genuine friendly locals.

Hi Brooks and welcome to AoS. There's quite a bit about modding the Touch here, it's a popular streamer. And, of course, loads on the 1200. Enjoy!
