Greetings from the Seattle area.
I'm Dave and I've been rediscovering
listening to quality music reproduction.
Fascinated with how different equipment
"sounds" and all the factors which
determine the sound.
I've played resonator guitar in several
bands over the years, mostly acoustic,
folk, and blues.
My dad was interested in electronics
back in the 30's-50's. We had a Hammond
organ, and a McIntosh set up.
I enjoy the great FM here in the seattle
area, especially King FM, classical,
and KPLU, jazz, as well as KBCS, NPR
and folk/acoustic... It's a low power station
about 20 miles the other side of mountains,
and the challenge of receiving it well drew
me into vintage FM tuners and antennas.
My amateur radio call is N4DAG, and its
fun constructing antennas.
My day job is psychotherapist, and we use
music a lot to learn more about our
passions and memories.
I've salvaged several tube amps and enjoy
restoring them and using them.
Currently loving a/d/s speakers, including 910
990, 730, 780, and L400, and a Jolida
302b tube amp. Pioneer 8007 tuner, and
several other vintage tuners.
Amazed at how good internet streaming audio
can sound, shopping for recommendations of
DAC's.
Cheers from the Pac NW!
