Ah Christmas: A necessary evil, at least until the kids leave home. Kinda difficult time for me being an agnostic with atheistic tendencies

+1 amen brother, ooops thats religous isn't it. I must admit not thinking too much about Xmas. I do enjoy the days off and being able to spend some down time at home with the family and eating what the hell (ooopps done it again) I want. I'll be working especially hard on expanding the waste (sic) line this year.

Christmas - a GREAT time to celebrate the Winter Solstice, and for me, a chance to get out the Christmas records I played when a toddler I've just replaced two Beverley Sisters 7" singles and a Mantovani 10" Christmas LP, all from the 50's that I knackered decades ago when the Collaro cartridge in the Deccalian 88 went awol and chewed up a few records.....

Singing carols at school is another wonderful thing for me -
Tear down these walls; Cut the ties that held me
Crying out at the top of my voice; Tell me now if you can hear me

    Hi Dave

Do they still do carols at school?

Most of the kids that come to my door only know "we wish you a merry Christmas" (a Christmas song rather than a carol) and paraphrased it translates as give us yer money.

Went to the local church fair, and they also have a Christmas tree festival going on in the church - 30 odd Christmas trees decorated by various organisations (schools, scouts, WI, etc) - what a great start to the festive season.
