I'd say some humans aren't much smarter.
I remember once we were going to ride from Bedford to Newquay on a camping trip, and checked the forecast on TV first. It said a band of heavy rain was moving eastwards from the West Country. Deterred? Not at all! We tried the other channels to try and find a better forecast.
All the forecasts were the same. and all correct. That was a shit run.
We've had Alice (the cat) for just over a year now, and last night she settled on my lap and went to sleep. Not remarkable at all really, but until now she would always leap over me rather than walk over me to get by, and howls if you try to pick her up. I think her last owners may have treated her badly, trust can be a hard thing to regain.
It's these little bits of affection that almost make up for all the turds she keeps burying in the flower beds.

I'm Dominic.
What really gets on my threepenny bits is lack of communication and nothing else gets me wound up more.
FFS we have mobile phones with voicemail, landline phones with answering machines, text messages, emails and even soshal mejia, all of which costs little or nothing to use. We no longer have to write letters by hand, put it in an envelope, buy a stamp and go to the pillar box to post the feckin thing and wait days for a reply.
Applying for jobs is a complete joke now and the red mist descends when I read this sort of crap; "Due to the large volume of responses, if you haven't heard back in 30 days then assume your application was unsuccessful". Large volume? Sites like Reed show the total number of applicants, so when I see only 5 people have applied, I really want to hit the asshole that wrote those patronising words. Even if they sent me an email saying "Piss off" that at least would be some form of communication.
Now you can compose an email with just one set of typing to be done, copied to as many blind recipients as you could possibly want, which took around 20 seconds at most to write and cost sweet fanny adams to send, so what excuse do these shit-for-brains need? NOBODY is that busy, so I don't buy that excuse either.
And breathe . . . . . . . .
CD player = Marantz CD6006
DAC/pre = Rotel RC 1572
Power amp = ADA PF201
Speaks = Quadral Chromium Style 6
To them your a nobody so why should they. That's their excuse. If I was their boss I would set traps for them but sure he will be just as lazy and disinterested in anyone else's feelings

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”
“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I'm joe.
Many years ago, I worked with a senior bloke from Marks and Spencer, part of whose job was selecting new employees for their management team. This was just before the internet really took off, so most job applications were paper-based. He said that, as the company received so many applications, they had a rule-of-thumb method of reducing the number to read:
Anything sent second-class post was rejected unopened
Anything send in a brown envelope was rejected unopened.
After that, if there were still too many to read, an arbitary 50% would be rejected without being opened (on the basis that such a random rejection method wouldn't risk an action for discrimination), until the total was down to a manageable number.
They also operated an 'If you do not hear from us ...' policy.
I wondered about this until I started recruiting staff myself for an organisation that insisted that all applicants be contacted and informed of the outcome of their applications. One time I was on the phone for over an hour to a bloke who insisted that he should have got the job, and who became quite abusive when I told him I couldn't give details of other candidates, but that the successful candidate had given the best interview.
I think people are suffering from an overload of communication. I’ve sent emails to Krell, VPI, Magnum Dynalab, a few guitar companies, and the worst was Ultimate microphone and guitar stand company. No response from any of them! I am always quite polite, and include all information in my emails, and it does piss me off when they fail to replay. The Ultimate guitar stand, came with a tag that promised lifetime warranty! With an 800 number, I called the number every day for two weeks and left polite messages, no one ever returned my call. I even stated I was willing to buy the part needed, still no response. I wondered if the boss knew this person was not answering calls?
When I worked in a corporate office, I knew my direct superiors were lying to the big guy upstairs. So I took it upon myself to go directly to the big man and tell him what was going on, concerning something that has been going on for a while. Come to find out he didn’t care, he only wanted to hear from his direct subordinates, if they lied about what went on below them, it made no difference to him. He had worked himself into a position he didn’t have to talk to the little people, and that was that! That was when I realized I was too honest to work in a corporate environment.
