Rabbits breed like, well, rabbits. Good to eat, and their skin will keep you warm. Easy and cheap to raise etc, and helped keep this country going during the war. My dad used to shoot them with the gamekeepers son as a boy, just before ww2 and callup. A lot of folk kept domesticated ones too. Big source of food to this day in italy, malta and greece.
