You are halfway through watching something that you didn't want to miss while you were on an emergency call-out when the screen goes blank with a little dialogue in the centre that says "End of program" !!! It's happened to me more than once, and when you try to find the program in the catch-up thingy, it's not there. Grrrr....Originally Posted by struth

I taped two films yesterday and both cut off after an hour. Really annoying. Think I might need a new cable box. What a ballache.

I would guess that it's not your box, it's the broadcaster leaving the 60 minute "End" marker in place which then causes your recording to terminate.

I have a Sony HD recorder with freeview
I find if I set it up on the menue to record a film prior to the film starting it records all of the film.
If I start watching the film and after 20 mins decide it bed time and press the record button it says " Now recording "
IT then decides when its time for bed for the Sony
