Tesco's putting the price of diesel up by 1p while I was in the store! £1.19 when I drove in, £1.20 when I drove out, actually going in the store rather than just filling up cost me 27p (that's without what I spent in there). Had a 10p off a litre voucher from a previous visit which cushioned the blow a little but but all the same..

This may well sound strange but I covered around 300,000 miles in my Audi S6 and it definitely ran best on Shell petrol and it really was noticeable if I had to use supermarket fuel. Admittedly it did need to be run with the super plus type unleaded but Shell or Esso were the best, BP and Texaco were OK and supermarket stuff the worst, it also caused knocking as well so maybe the octane quoted was a bit optimistic.

I buy my petrol from BP. The only non supermarket place handy for me. Not that I've noticed any difference in the car's running or economy. Doesn't make much difference to me as I only average about eight miles a day and the car turns in about 65mpg.
