I think having children 'lowers the bar' somewhat wrt to one's disgust/germ awareness threshold. Several years of nappy-changing and you worry less about germs. Or I did, anyway.

Yeah, good point. I've never had to do that, although having three cats, and cleaning out their litter trays daily (for rather longer than a kid's in nappies), might be a close second!

Ok, I'm going to make a couple of points which will be a decider for you.

    1. Thousands of people eating, drinking and ingesting all kinds of weird shit, often to excess.

    2. When the sun goes down, lighting is piss-poor.

    3. The place is so crowded, getting to a toilet on time can be next to impossible. Much easier to squat where you are.
My brother has been several times in recent years, and tells me this is fairly common.

If you are back at your tent, the toilets can be quite far away. Shitting in the camping area is more convenient, behind someone's tent for privacy.
I emerged from my tent one morning, crawling out head first, and my hand landed squarely on a fresh turd, so fresh it squirted up between my fingers. I will never ever camp there again.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

    KICKSTARTER: ENABLING SCAMMERS SINCE 2009

Oh FFS, you've just put me off for life! Plus, I've never been that into tents. Camping is ok, in warm sunny weather, in some clean, scenic countryside/seaside location, where you've got all the proper facilities you need, but otherwise no...

I'm more of a hotel type of guy! I like my 'luxuries'

Rent a luxury motor home and go in that. It'll cost a bomb but you have your own toilet.

Yeah, that'd be the way to do it, as long as a crowd of you are going and sharing the costs.

But then if say 6 of you go there's still only one toilet between all of you. And it isn't even a proper toilet.

I quite agree. Pointless waste of money.

On the other hand when we moved into our current house, the owners left two behind and we’ve still got them as they are rather fun to use!
