What did/do your parents think of the music you like?

One overriding memory I have of a comment made by my mother when listening to Soft Machine 4:

'it sounds like they are just tuning up like an orchestra before a concert'

I subjected my parents to Alice Cooper. Loud. Such reassuring lyrics as "I love the dead" and "dead babies" must have had them worried but they tolerated it with little comment actually. I remember the bedroom door flying open during the album "Killer" and her stating " that might be getting "Under your Wheels" but it's getting On my Nerves. Enough!

Then the School's Out album was released - and she confiscated the paper panties that served as the inner sleeve!
Personally I thought that would have been seen as a step in the right direction
