    Talking Perceptions ?

    http://www.bbc.com/future/story/2012...-of-the-mind/2

This reminded me of how much the role of the mind plays in our perception of sound and in particular, music.
There is the possibility that some of us require fine tuned bespoke this or that to perceive what others if you will appreciate with the most modest of systems.

Go to to hidemyass.com, left click the orange 'Hide My Ass button then right click on Bobs link and select 'copy link address'. Paste this into the address bar on the Hide My Ass page and (ahem) Bob's yer uncle...

    Got it, finally....
None of the suggestions worked, but the hidemyass link gave me a clue, and I managed to get out via a different proxy server.

Yes, the article is very good.
And yes, the mind is very much in use with our perception of music.
This was brought home to me in the late 1990s, when I went through a course of chemotherapy.
The further into the course of treatment I went, the less was my ability to concentrate sufficiently to get anything out of listening to music.

There's a saying "a healthy body makes a healthy mind", and my experience tells me that this is very true.
