    Hi DSJR

I am sorry but I don't understand your first point

Yes, ATC components have improved over time. For anyone not familiar - Super Linear Magnet Technology, studio Super Soft Dome, Anniversary amp packs, etc.

    All the best

Yeah, the inbuilt amp pack circuit boards in the 50A's and 100A's have changed in recent years, mainly around the crossovers I understand.

Back to your question - the Audax tweeter the two BBC monitors used, along with the ATC200's and 300's was discontinued some years ago. Audax are back in business with one or two of the "classic" products being made again, this tweeter being one of them I believe, as well as the classic smaller dome tweeter that went into so many speaker favourites from the late 70's and early 80's.

In my day, 300A's used to be around £15K the pair including amp block. WHY has HiFi stuff increased so much in price where wages haven't increased anywhere near that much?

    Ok ok, whinge over.

    Hi DSJR

Dare i say it that even at their current retail prices I feel ATC products represent excellent VFM.

Anyway I am now going to duck for cover

Thanks. I am sorry I wasn't there though as I had to go and see my Dad at the main hospital. Unfortunately my Dad passed away in the afternoon.

Btw, the picture (a little distorted) in my Avatar is of my Dad when he was fourteen years old. A true gentleman.

    All the best

Sorry I haven't been in the trade section for a while and didn't see the sad news about your dad.

I lost my mum recently so I know your pain.
