I used to run an SME III in my STD just like that black one. It's still in the box, must put it on eBay sometime. Good as the SME was (very underrated arm), the Michell outperforms it.

The Torlyte stand material is excellent, very dead indeed with no chance of resonances being propagated.

I had the 'IIIS' on a Thorens 'TD160' years ago wasn't that impressed with it, rather laid back sound it gave off.Stick the SME on flea bay for twoo hundred notes BIN & you'll move it sure enough.

Torlyte is good & was considering buying some again but Russ changed the styling of it a bit which i'm not too fussed about.Even changed the look of the Oak cones for the worse too..
