Use 800 wet and dry, move to 1200,then use a rubbing compound and finally a metal polish, hey presto, nice shiny lid LIKE NEW.

any deck I use I always take the lid off permenantly and stick it in a cupboard - they ruin the sound if you leave them attahced and they get in the way when using the deck.
