I've been looking for a while for a new wire to use between the phono and preamp, having decided (correctly) that a dealer demo wire I'd been given ages ago, with silver eichmann plugs each end, was a bit bright. I'd tried a few, including Furutechs + my own MIT Magnum from the cdp, to get a feel of what was wrong with the existing cable.
I thought that Dominic Harpers' cable sounded interesting, gold plated silver, so thought I'd give it a go, especially as despite being made to order, I could return it if it didn't float my boat.
But it does, very much so. After a few hours the soundstage became 'walk in', no sense of brightness yet plenty of air and space around the instruments and vocals. Tonal colours seemed well fleshed out and the bass is first class to my ears, making some cables sound mildly damped by comparison. Tis as good as my MIT which is a bummer.
Build quality as good as anywhere, why pay more?
Yep, happy with this one plus Dom is a top man to deal with. Worth adding to your list of vfm cables imo.
