    Hi Guys

    For those that can't understand the lure of valves/tubes (other than the fantastic sound). The magical sight of these romantic, Glass Bottles glowing away is for many what makes it so magical. Back in the 80's a reviewer coined the phrase City Of Lights to describe an all Audio Innovations set up (1000 Series pre-Amplifier and 2nd Audio Power Amps).

    Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. LDR Stereo Coffee. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.

    Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.

    Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.

    Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

    Yes Solid state is generally(there are some exceptions) boring (both in looks and sound IMHO).

    Yes, lovely pic's.

    I must try some like that myself now that I've found the macro feature on my camera.

    Err, except I can't at the moment, my amp is lying upside down with it's knickers off and it's giblets exposed!

    Great pics valves have a pure beauty to them and in winter they help with heating!!

    There we go with the cock rings again! You must have one for every day of the week
    That seems like a very expensive way to heat them before you put them on, cant you just leave them on the radiator for a while.
