Default FS Revox G36 15ips High Speed (original high speed) R2R

I have decided to sell my 2 track Revox G36 High Speed. This is a factory high speed machine, and not a later capstan change. I know as it still has the original Revox tag on the handle with the serial number (77207) and 19/38 (cm per sec) stamped on the tag. This is important as the capstan change machines can lead to altered tape tensions and are not as reliable.

I bought this with a view to buying a Tape Project subscription, but decided that USD3k plus taxes a year was just a bit steep. I have never seen another original Factory High Speed machine for sale. I have seen a few high speed capstan conversions for sale.

This is in excellent working condition. I bought this from a BBC Engineer near Leatherhead, who had over 40 R2Rs in his house, all serviced and working perfectly. I have barely put 5 hours on this since I bought it. Cosmetics are very good for a machine dating from the 60s.

I can email some pics to potential buyers. Collection welcome from Cheltenham. I will post worldwide at buyer's cost. The unit would be double boxed and shipped fully insured.

For more info, please email me on topoxforddoc@btinternet.com

Price £995 - yes I know that's steep, but the capstan conversions go for this money. I will accept payment by cheque, paypal (if you pay the fees) or a bank transfer.

Given it has been serviced recently and is working perfectly, the price seems entirely reasonable.

    Joe,
Thanks (how do I post the pics here?). I'll have to sort that out tomorrow. I've got an health article to write now for a magazine - copy date NOW.
    Best wishes,

Hi Charlie, take a look at this thread...

I'd suggest you use photobucket or similar & thus follow the instructions for that.

It's not difficult one you do it once, honestly
    Bests, Mark

OK here goes with the pics

The light makes the dark grey top plate look rather swirled in appearance. It’s not in reality like that.

Similar machines usually go for ~ £750. About thirty years ago, a collegue at work put his Revox 736HS up for sale at £25. I declined!

I paid about half your asking price for my Nagra IV-S; a vastly superior machine in my opinion.

Nonetheless, good luck with the sale: they are a very good machine and becoming quite rare these days.

These machines are getting scarce in this condition. They are certainly not dropping in price. I remember one on squankbay a few years since for £600 and it wasn't in as good nick as this.

I wish I could help you mate but I'm spent up... again!

Whoever buys this will be very happy indeed, this thing is built like a tank and fully valve. Mullard Miniwatt I seem to remember.
