Spent few days (Fri & Sat) at the Iso-Syöte National park. Did small fatbike tour with camping equipment and checked also the recently opened rededicated fatbike routes near the Iso-Syöte skiing resort. Friday did 32km geared and Saturday 23km geared plus 30km just with light equipment. Wonderful routes with plenty of huts and fireplaces, good weather and A+ time with friends!!!
Today has our son 8th birthday so have been baking Angry Birds cake etc. Luckily the parties are now over and house is starting to quiet down. Phew..

Are those huts the equivalents of a Bothy in Scotland?, if they are they look well equipped and cosy.

We have two types of huts here in the national parks and other similar places. The basic ones are free and open all the time with limited equipment with small fireplace with wood, so in principle you have to carry everything else. The ones you have to pay a small free and get the keys are better equipped and most have additional gas stove and mattresses in beds. Some have even sauna available you can use for additional payment..
More details of the system here in Finland can be found from http://www.outdoors.fi/en/hikinginfi.../accommodation

It's the basic one then, Bothies here are unlocked buildings just four walls and a roof with bare floor for you to bed down on if you got lost or caught in a storm,
no cooking stove or fire wood, you'll have to fetch these yourself if you have anymore energy, if you survive just remember to shut the door when you leave for the next unfortunate soul who needs to crash on it.

That bike lamp produces a good light, doesn’t it? Is it a special halogen one, or something like that?

The lamp is Lumilight 1400 model from local store. It's pretty similar than some DX models made in China, so I guess its origin is somewhere that direction. It's nice lamp alright despite not any Lupine one However no need for lights today as started my bike ride right after the breakfast. Wonderful sunny +3 deg weather - did three and half hours of small roads with few icy gravel and forest roads with my cx bike. Ended the ride to the river/seaside where the families were enjoying the day, some where skiing or skating and some people icefishing, so plenty of action going on there...

Have lately sold three bikes to finance one new custom frame and fork. Hopefully that will be soon coming from the builder as I'm getting bit itchy already. Luckily had my annual skiing holiday to northern playground and spent 12 days with friends. Had weather to reach only four tops and couloirs this time but treeskiing was pretty epic at times
It might be this was the skiing season for me and next piccies are again something bike related stuff..
