None of it was taken personally Robbie - it was just that you mentioned a couple of very expensive components in the same sentence.
I'm quite accepting of the fact that what suits me may not suit others

Have you tried removing the stock PSU from under the platter and sticking it in an external box?
It's a very worthwhile exercise.

Hi Chris no worries at all, I think I just really dont like the stock platter. By the way, I really admire your approach which takes in to consideration that money is an issue for a fair few of us and I'm one of those I did have the base Timestep psu but really felt I could do better hence the psu upgrade I'm three quarters of the way to paying off. Will probably take me a few more years to get the upgrade platter at this rate

Yesh it is, baby, by a significant margin.

It'll also be interesting comparing both T/Ts, in their respective stages of modification, which will allow you to realise just how far, sonically, you can take this rather remarkable little turntable.
