Default Technics SL 1200 mk11 tune ups ?

    Hi all

I have the above TT and was curios as to the best tune ups for it

Without changing the arm and cartridge I have at the moment

Do different feet / mats / platters ? if that's what they are called ? / and I have noticed some TT's with a big weight on the LP ? what does that do to improve things

    Thanks

    Allen

I replaced the Techie's original feet with a set from Vantage Audio and noticed an immediate improvement across the board and even better, they didn't exactly break the bank at 25 quid a set. You do lose the ability to adjust the level of the deck with these though

If you are still using the supplied Technics headshell dump it in favour of something a bit fancier, that is the single quickest improvement you can make. I am using a Sumiko (£30), I have swapped carts back and forth between this and the stock shell, the differences are not subtle.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.
