I'm Nick and I'm a music-aholic. I find myself buying the same tracks in as many formats as I can. Eight Tracks give me the biggest hangover!

wish it was just a passing phase with me... i remember about 15 years ago being told that tube collectors exist... i though thats a strange one...

then i bought my 1st box of old valves...

    got quite a few now....

now there are the speaker drivers, the turntables, the transformers, old valve amps, etc etc.

My name is Alex and I'm a placementholic. I can't seem to be able to stop messing with my speaker placement. Toe in some more, toe in some less, away from the walls, closer to the walls, tweeters on the inside, tweeters on the outside, the 'chopstick' position... and on and on and on...
Don't you just hate it when you cannot detect where the post ends and a signature line begins?

Get some decent speakers and you'll find that you're miraculously cured

Hi I'm Natalie, Dom's partner from Northwest Analogue and I think I have become a cartridge aholic. I didn't know the first thing about hifi until I met Dom and now I can tell the difference between a Koetsu and a Lyra. But I am becoming more and more interested in valves. Our valves at the moment are 6CA7s, although I have heard some 300B's and they sounded very nice indeed. have also listened to some 845's but I wasn't keen, but I guess it is whatever suits your hearing imho.

You and Dom should come over to the next Owsten meet - 26th & 27th May.
Meet a really nice bunch of people who make a lot of their own gear and get some pretty amazing sounds out it.
