    Default Cancelled order for SR5-12

Due to a change of circumstances, one of my customers wants to cancel his order for an SR5-12.

This SR5 has been set up for powering the Mac Mini 2010 onwards and could also be used for powering 12v motherboards or ATX motherboards with a Pico ATX converter like CAPS audio server power supplies. It would also make an excellent power supply for any 12v DAC or digital interface.

No waiting for build, as the power supply has already been built, so it is not subject to a build schedule lead time and it is ready to be packed and shipped. Anyone interested in buying this power supply should PM me for details.

    Regards

    Has something happened to Paul?

I ordered a returned PS from him and haven't heard back from him. I see he hasn't posted anything for 2 weeks now.

    Everything OK?

    Default Order shipment

    Hi Brandon,

I’m still here, just busy with many things at present.

When you e-mailed on the 17th September telling me your were enjoying a beer in Barcelona I figured I would hold shipment until you returned. I hope the beer was good.

It is too late for the shipment collection today so I will get the parcel on the way to you on Monday.

Default I am changing the way Paul Hynes Design works.

Initially I set up Paul Hynes Design to provide high performance DIY regulator modules and small power supplies for enthusiasts to upgrade their audio equipment. Everything was built to order, and the funding for the materials purchase, assembly/admin costs, were provided by customers at the time of order to avoid the need for bank funding. This worked well for while and sales by word of mouth kept increasing.

Enquiries for larger and more specialised custom built power supplies increased so I began designing and introducing these to the product range. Sales kept increasing as the power supplies gained popularity.

Custom build is not the same as buying a product “off the shelf” where the product exists and can be shipped out soon after payment. Often the custom built item has to be designed and built from scratch. This takes time and as sales increase it inevitably generates a queue, which is OK as long as people are aware of this. Unfortunately I found out the hard way that things do not always go according to plan and a number of unpredictable events beyond my control have played havoc with my work schedule particularly over the last few years. This has caused disappointment to many customers along the way, who have had lead time delays, sometimes considerable, and I have decided that this situation can no longer continue. I am therefore closing down the Custom Build service. All outstanding orders will of course be completed, and I will be processing these as quickly as possible.

To ensure that the more popular power supply products will remain available for customers I have already started transferring these products for manufacturing under license by Paul Hynes Audio Ltd on the UK mainland. More products are scheduled for transfer this Autumn.

I am also changing the way the regulator modules for DIY upgrades are provided by Paul Hynes Design. These will no longer be “custom built to order”. In future I will be having these made in small batches and will be offering them from stock only. This will mean that modules in stock can be shipped out within a few working days from placing the order. If they are not in stock you will not be able to order them. A new website is in preparation for Paul Hynes Design DIY products and this will include an e-shop with a shopping cart.

I know a number of customers have become very frustrated with order delays and for this I can only apologise. I would like to thank all my customers who have been patient with the logistical problems that have occurred over the last few years with Custom Build. There is a lot of work to do to clear outstanding orders and get all the above reorganisation in place and I hope your patience and support will continue through this period of reorganisation.

Default Used SR7-21/27 and SR5-12 order cancellation available

I have a used SR7-21/27 power supply for the Technics SL1200 available an annealed copper/Teflon insulation DC lead. The cost is £400 plus shipping and any funds transfer fees. PM me if interested.

I also have a brand new SR5-12, 6.6A power supply available after an order cancellation. This can be used with :-

Mac Mini 2010 and later models
    C.A.P.S. Carbon audio server
    C.A.P.S. Lagoon audio server
    C.A.P.S. Topanga audio server
A wide variety of 12v digital interface and DAC products
Any 12v power application requiring a high performance continuous current delivery of up to 6.6A

The SR5-12 costs £525. High performance DC leads can be fabricated to suit your application and I will quote for this depending on requirements. The Mac Mini can be modified to accept this power supply and I can quote for this if required. Shipping and any funds transfer fees are extra and charged at cost price.

    Default 2 Dacs For Sale

    For Sale,

I no longer use the following DACs so I have decided to offer them for sale. Both DACs offer improved musical performance over standard issue items due to the upgraded power supplies.

The first DAC on offer is the Metrum Quad NOS DAC (£450 when new without the Metrum power supply) with the PH regulator upgrade (£198) and the 50VA PH power supply (£180), total cost new £828. I will accept £400 or nearest offer.

The second is the Altmann Attraction NOS DAC full spec with clocks up to 192kHz and JISCO jitter reduction (current retail £3250) with the PH regulator modifications (£180) and a Modified SR3-12 for the master supply (£270). I will accept £1,000 or nearest offer.

I can ship to most countries and will be pleased to quote for insured tracked signed for shipping. Paypal payment accepted but you will have to pay the paypal fee. Bank transfer also accepted, with a bank transfer handling fee of £6 from my bank and I will provide the account details if this method of payment is chosen.

I will be pleased to answer and questions about the DACs to interested parties, either on this thread or via PM.

    Regards
    Paul
