Default Remote Control Kits (In Place Of Wired Remote)

I want to put together a simple IR remote control kit, to control my Tandberg TD-20A. This has a 7 pin DIN socket on the back to control the various transport functions. Operation is by connecting each of the pins to ground.

The simplest design would be to have it as a wired remote with a 6-way rotary switch (pin 7 serves power, I guess to the original factory remote). A wireless remote would be really great. Does anyone know of any kits out there that support up to 6 exclusive switch states. Most I've seen only seem to support up to 3 states. has anyone done something like this before?

I may have a solution. I need to see if the parts are still around though.

    I have this:
    http://www.quasarelectronics.com/309...er-ic-pack.htm
Which is the same thing that alb showed but without the PCB and the relays. You have to make your own PCB or use protoboard.
It pulls the outputs low so you would need to then goto some flip flops so that 1 press toggles on and the next press toggles off. All fairly simple to do.

I bought it ages ago for a remote preamp that I never got round to building.

Its yours if you want it, I'm having a clearout so I can decorate the back room.

That looks really good. I could control 2 machines with that, if I could find out the logic for my Nak, which had a wired remote too

Edit - Paul. Thank you very much for the offer! I've made PCB's before - a long time ago - so that would be fun to do. I'll PM you later to sort out the details. I've gotta shoot now though!

Thanks for your help everyone -
