I’m not going to bother providing single links because you wont do this and you’ll probably get some nice looking audiophile crap with plated this and plated that and be very happy.
Chuck the Tacima in the rubbish.
    Get a dedicated mains installed.
The best plug is no plug.
If you have to have a plug then better without a fuse. Of course you need to make sure your kit is properly fused.
Same applies to sockets, no switch, no fuse.

Build yourself a mains distribution block out of some ply or something similar.
Solder all the connections at wall socket, in plugs and in distribution block.
Get rid of any IEC sockets on your kit and solder decent mains cable directly.
I’ve recently redone mine with a load of 30 amp studio mains plugs much like those in the link.

Oh arr. Why did I change from my domestic 30 amp round pin? Got sick of changing plugs when I borrow my mates pro audio kit

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.

Hi John. Thanks for your thoughts. I'd love a dedicated mains but it would cause far too much domestic upheaval I'm afraid.

I love the fact that you've already made your mind up that I'm shallow and easily led by writing this "I’m not going to bother providing single links because you wont do this and you’ll probably get some nice looking audiophile crap with plated this and plated that and be very happy."

Sorry to piss on your fish and chips but I have no intention of buying and audiophile crap as you call it. I've just bought eight MK single unswitched sockets and am doing the job today. I'm hoping it brings the desired results.

As for the Tacima, lots of people like them. I'm insure. When I get the new sockets in, I'll have a listen, trust my ears and if the Tacima isn't bringing anything to the party it will be ditched.

    Thanks again for your input.

Hi Martin. I've been following your exploits with these and would love to try one. My knowledge is very sparse on these things. How much would a decent one cost me? Which would you recommend?

Eight single sockets done. Nice neat row. Kit back in place. Wife out for the day until very late. Beer in the fridge, Indian curry sorted. Happy days.

Jeff, it's a long story but I actually did. Suck Mandelson's lemons that is. Rest assured I went nowhere near his plums. What a despicable man.
