Might I suggest: 'sesquipedalian'; 'Sysyphian'; 'supererogatory'; 'nugatory' and 'concatination'. That'll sort out the men from the boys: see who later looks up those words in a dictionary.'Garrulous' - good word that, Barry. I shall task myself with using it at work tomorrow
When I used to write research reports for work, in order to be assured that all those on the distribution list would have read the report, I would deliberately incorporate unusual (but pertinant) words in the text. I knew if all had read my report, because they would come back to me asking "what does this word mean?".
