    Default Beobloke's latest vinyl toy...

    ...and it's all julesd68's fault!

You see, I was perusing this thread here, about Julian's new Source turntable, in which the Odyssey tonearm blog was mentioned and I never knew such a thing existed.

Anyway, I duly logged on and what was the first posting I saw? Yes, that’s right – two Odyssey RP1-XG arms for sale. Well, bearing in mind that one of my very first hi-fi lusts was a Source turntable with Odyssey arm, I had to have one, didn’t I, so here it is.

It’s beautiful, it sounds superb and I’m a very happy bunny!

    Excellent stuff Adam! (Very jealous)
Did you get it from John Gordon himself? I knew he was about to be selling some arms. I PM'd Julian about them at the time of his OP, but he was already onto it!

    Phew!
With the thread title being what it is, I thought you were referring to inflatable Ingrid - she what gets the occasional mention in Red Dwarf

Jesus! That looks awful. Truly horrible. Everyone knows the arm of choice with a gerrard is an old RB250......
As it happens I have one and I'll do you a swap just out of the goodness of my heart......

Does anyone have a 'description' of the needle path with that pillar arrangement, Is it multi pivoted?

Yes, I did buy it directly from John - a very nice chap.

That's very kind - how could I have been so foolish? Your generosity is close to reducing me to tears. I'll get it packed up and on its way to you this evening.....

Sexy looking arm, Adam, and a fine example of lateral thinking, if I may say so! May you enjoy many hours of 'vinyl grinding' together.

It appears that the cleaner and cook also approve of your record collection, and have made themselves feel right at home.... Perhaps you may need to turn the heating down a touch?

I take full responsiblity of leading you down the path of righteous tonearm salvation!

I would buy one myself to see how it compares against my Kuzma but am somewhat financially challenged at the moment, and fortunately the Kuzma is doing a great job.

I think John Gordon is re-furbing a few different Odyssey arms at the moment so if anyone is interested I would urge them to get in quick - once those are all sold you will have more chance of finding Lord Lucan ...
